Don't be surprised if you see more Ford Mustangs than usual around Sarnia-Lambton this weekend.
Pathways Health Centre for Children will once again hold its Mustang Sally Rally on Saturday.
Owners of the legendary vehicle will take a scenic tour through Lambton County and collect playing cards to build a winning poker hand for a chance to win one of three cash prizes.
The best poker hand gets $500 cash, second place gets $300 cash, and third place gets $200 cash.
Event Lead Marcy Draker said it's always popular as 87 Mustangs joined in last year, helping to raise over $12,000 for the youth organization.
"Last year was the first year we brought Mustang Sally back after a six-year hiatus and certainly in connection with celebrating Pathways' 50th anniversary last year," said Draker. "The event was such a success that we decided to bring it back for 2026 because it was just so highly loved and the participants last year had just given so much praise to the event, how much fun it was, and that they were all looking forward to returning."
Draker said registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Point Edward Arena, and the cars will head out at around 10 a.m.
"We like to keep it a little bit of like a surprise, but I can tell you that last year our stops were Mooretown Arena, we had a stop at Mike Weir Park, we had a drive-by of Pathways Health Centre for Children, and we provide the card in a sealed envelope, as I had made mention, as well as a refreshment stop and bathroom stops along the way," she said. "The rally takes somewhere in the neighbourhood of two and a half to three hours to cruise."
Participants will meet back at the Point Edward Arena afterward to see if they're the big winners. It's anticipated the winners will be announced before 3 p.m.
Draker said they're grateful for all of the volunteers as well as event sponsors Barry and Erika Hogan (Hub International), Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd., and KNK Mechanical Group.
As one of 22 Children’s Treatment Centres in the province of Ontario, Pathways Health Centre for Children provides a continuum of rehabilitation and support services in the community, as well as an on-site integrated childcare service and a therapeutic pool.
