CK Expo returns to Chatham

Chatham-Kent's Pop Culture Show returns to the John D. Bradley Convention Centre this weekend.

CK Expo is Chatham's Comic Con, but it's also a charity event.

"We raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club, where we have a Comic-Con," said Robert Bellamy, one of the organizers. "We bring in celebrities, bring in some vehicles, have a billion vendors, different games going on, Cosplay contests. Anything you can think of, we throw into that room for two days."

Bellamy added that they have lots planned for Saturday and Sunday.

"The giant Cosplay Contest on Sunday. We have a kids cosplay contest, a massive Kids Zone. Our games room is full of card games, board games, video games, anything you think of in there. Then the vendors, which bring so many wicked things," he said.

One of the biggest draws for fans is the celebrities who will be there.

"It's the 35th anniversary of Sailor Moon, so we have three of the voice actors coming in," Bellamy said. "Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Mars and Sailor Moon will all be there. We're bringing in the vehicle from Trailer Park Boys, and Julian Richings, who played Death on Supernatural, but has also been in X-Men: Last Stand and Man of Steel."

Advance tickets online are selling fast, and Bellamy is anticipating their biggest show yet.

Tickets are $15 in advance online at www.ckexpo.ca for Saturday, $20 at the door, and $10 in advance for Sunday, and $20 a the door. Weekend passes are also available in advance for $25.
