Domestic Assault
A 32-year-old woman has been charged for allegedly assaulting her partner.
On January 3, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a home in Tilbury for a reported domestic dispute.
According to police, a woman and a 27-year-old man had gotten into a verbal fight when the woman assaulted the man and wouldn't let him leave.
A warrant was issued for the woman, with police arresting her in Tilbury on Monday.
She's been charged with assault and forcible confinement.
She's since been released from police custody with a future court date.
Disturbance at Business
CK police have charged a 30-year-old man from Walpole Island for allegedly causing a disturbance at a Chatham business.
At around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the business on St. Clair Street for multiple thefts.
Police say the man opened an alcoholic beverage and began to drink it. He was told to leave, but later returned, taking several items before leaving again.
Officers found the man near the business and arrested him.
He's since been charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
