A Chatham-Kent (CK) man is back in custody after police located him during an investigation into a family dispute, capping a series of incidents that began in the spring.
The first call came on April 4, 2025, when officers were dispatched to Pine Street in Chatham for a report of a suspicious person damaging a home and trying to get into vehicles.
When police arrived, they found a 37-year-old man who admitted to causing the damage because he believed someone inside the residence was in danger.
Officers checked the home and confirmed that no one inside was being harmed.
The man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. He was released with conditions and given a court date, but police say he failed to attend court several times and did not comply with a probation order.
Months later, on October 21, officers located the man and arrested him on an outstanding warrant. He was released again with a new court date of November 24, which he also failed to attend.
The cycle continued on December 9, when the accused was found during a family dispute investigation.
Police arrested him on another outstanding warrant. He is currently being held for a bail hearing.
