Windsor fire officials say three people were treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a west-end business.

Firefighters were first called shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday to the plant that formerly housed Nemak, on GN Booth Drive near Ojibway Parkway. Employees had reported what was called an industrial fire.

Within an hour, firefighters moved to attack a fire inside the plant.

The fire was declared out at around 1 p.m.

One person was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Two others were treated by paramedics on the spot.
