Three motorcyclists charged with stunt driving

Three Chatham men won't be able to ride their motorcycles for a couple of weeks after being charged with stunt driving.

Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a complaint on Saturday about three motorcyclists driving dangerously on St. Clair Street in Chatham. According to the complaint, the three were speeding and driving aggressively, putting others at risk.

The police were able to corroborate the claims and identify the three motorcyclists.

Two days later, officers charged an 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 28-year-old man. Each had their motorcycles impounded for 14 days and their licences suspended for 30 days.

"The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the member of the public who came forward with information. Citizen reports play an important role in identifying unsafe driving behaviours and helping to keep local roadways safe for everyone," read a statement from CK police.

The police also encourage anyone who may see someone driving dangerously to call 519-352-1234 if it's not an emergency and 9-1-1 if it's an emergency.
