Chatham-Kent is investigating the need for slope stabilization along the Sydenham River in Dresden.
The municipality is hosting an in-person public information session on Thursday, July 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.
Officials are initiating a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) along the river in Dresden near 455 and 459 Sydenham Street.
The study will look at existing conditions, identify and evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend a preferred approach that helps protect public safety, infrastructure, and the surrounding environment.
Four possible solutions are being considered. Doing nothing, road reconstruction, road reconstruction with a curb and gutter, and road reconstruction with a retaining wall.
If you're unable to attend the in-person session, comments can also be made online by July 23 at www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca/sydenham-river.
