Break and Enter lead to Assault

A 36-year-old Windsor woman has been charged for allegedly breaking into a home and attacking a woman.

At around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Chatham-Kent (CK) Police were called to Hilda Avenue in Wallaceburg for a potential break and enter.

According to police, a woman is alleged to have entered the home through a basement window, and physically assaulted a 22-year-old woman.

The victim sustained minor injuries, but did not need additional medical help from EMS.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault and breaking and entering.

She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Alleged Assault

CK Police have charged a 45-year-old man for allegedly striking another man in the face multiple times.

Just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to a home on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

CK Police say the suspect got into a fight with a 63-year-old man, which ended with the victim being struck multiple times. The victim was injured but refused medical help.

Officers arrested the suspect, and charged him with assault.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Uttering Death Threats

A 39-year-old man has been charged after allegedly uttering death threats at a Chatham business.

Just before 11 a.m. on Monday, CK Police were called to a Lacroix Street bank after reports of threats.

The suspect was asked to leave by bank staff and a 55-year-old man who reportedly knew him. Police say before he left, the man started uttering threats.

The man was later arrested on Wellington Street West, and charged with uttering death threats.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Impaired Driver

A 28-year-old woman from Merlin has been charged for allegedly causing a two vehicle collision while drunk.

Just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, CK Police received a report of a collision on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.

According to police, a driver was attempting to turn off the street when they were rear ended.

Officers say the driver of the second vehicle showed signs of being impaired, so she was arrested.

Further testing at police headquarters showed she was above the legal limit.

She has since been charged with two counts of operating a vehicle while impaired.

She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Serious Collision

No one was hurt after two vehicles were heavily damaged during a collision in Chatham.

The alleged crash happened on St. Clair Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

CK Police say one of the drivers failed to stop at a red light, causing the crash.

Both vehicles suffered significant damage and were unable to be driven.

The driver accused of causing the collision was issued a ticket for failing to stop at a red light.
