Leamington to launch waterfront refreshment pilot project

Visitors to Leamington's waterfront will have another option to enjoy.

The Municipality will launch Brew on the 42, a two-year pilot project, which will sell coffee and light food items in an outdoor setting.

It will serve as the operational anchor for the Waterfront Market Plaza, a seasonal, municipally-owned attraction that will offer food and beverage options, outdoor programming, and public seating.

The pilot project is intended to measure potential opportunities for current and future municipal-private partnerships.

Earlier this year, the Municipality secured a provincial grant of $50,000 toward start-up costs

"Brew on the 42 is about creating consistent activity at the waterfront and demonstrating what is possible for this space," said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. "By taking the lead and investing in this pilot project, the Municipality is helping set the standard for what the future of our waterfront can become. When you create great places for people to gather, it encourages others to be part of that vision."

The Municipality will keep residents informed of developments, including opening dates and waterfront programming.

Complete details on Leamington's waterfront project are available on the Municipality's official website.
