The Chatham Goodfellows are celebrating another successful year after wrapping up their 71st annual street sales campaign.
The campaign raised more than $30,728.94 this year, less than $200 shy of last year’s total.
The organization’s board of directors says they were thrilled with the strong turnout of volunteers and the generosity shown by residents across Chatham-Kent (CK).
“Thank you, we truly couldn’t do this without you,” the board shared. “We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.”
They say the continued support from volunteers, local residents, businesses, and media partners plays a vital role in helping the Goodfellows live up to their long-standing motto, “No Child Without a Christmas.”
Last year, the Goodfellows spent more than $230,000 on toys and food to fill holiday hampers for families in need.
Beyond the donations, organizers say the mission is about caring for neighbours and doing what’s right when someone needs help most.
As the holidays approach, the Chatham Goodfellows say the community’s support continues to make a meaningful difference, helping ensure no child goes without Christmas.
