UPDATE: Police release image of vehicle sought in fatal crash

Windsor police have released an image of a vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal pedestrian collision in an effort to identify the driver.

The vehicle involved has been identified as a dark-coloured SUV with a rear window spoiler or wing.

The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Tecumseh Road East at the time of the collision. Police are urging the driver to come forward and speak with investigators.

The fatal collision occurred on April 15, at approximately 10 p.m., in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Lincoln Road.

A 65-year-old woman was crossing the street mid-block when she was struck by the eastbound vehicle. The force of the initial impact caused her to be thrown into the opposing lane, where she was struck by a second vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene. However, the second driver failed to remain and has not been identified.

Anyone with information about the SUV or the collision is asked to contact police at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830.
