Police officers on the region's roads charged multiple drivers over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, Windsor police officers were called to Westminister Road for the report of an unresponsive man behind the wheel of a vehicle with the engine running.
When officers arrived on the scene, they said the man was seen slumped over in the driver's seat. They parked their cruisers in front of and behind the vehicle. When officers woke the man up, he tried to take off and hit both police cruisers.
The 38-year-old driver was charged with dangerous operation and prohibited operation of a vehicle.
Later that night, police were called to a single-vehicle crash on the E.C. Row Expressway near Walker Road. According to police, the driver lost control while travelling westward, and the car ended up in a ditch and caught on fire.
The 54-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a sample.
Early Sunday morning, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Talbot Road West in Leamington.
Following an investigation, a 33-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
