Multiple youths arrested following disturbance at Strathroy high school

Five youths have been arrested and charged in relation to a disturbance at a Strathroy high school last week.

The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service (SCPS) said in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, no further details or names of the youths can be released in relation to the February 2 incident.

The police service is reminding students, parents, and the broader community that violence doesn't solve conflict.

"Members of the public are encouraged to report concerns directly to school administration and to avoid becoming involved or taking matters into their own hands," a media release said.

"SCPS continues to fully support Strathroy District Collegiate Institute (SDCI) and Holy Cross Catholic (HCC) in maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to violence. All incidents of this nature are taken seriously, will be thoroughly investigated, and charges may result. Police remain committed to working collaboratively with school partners to help ensure a safe learning environment for students, staff and the community."

Anyone with additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact SCPS.
