A South Huron school has received a major donation for its playground replacement project, through the Hensall Co-op Strong Communities Initiative.
Stephen Central Public School in Dashwood is receiving $10,000 to go towards a new playground, after the school was advised last year that the existing structures needed to be removed due to age.
The new playground will feature inclusive playground equipment, including accessible swings.
The school is aiming to raise $150,000 by December 2027.
Two other local projects received funding through the Hensall Co-op: the Mitchell Ag Society’s – It’s Ok Not to be Ok program, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation’s MRI campaign both received $2,500.
This is the sixth year the Co-Op has given back to non-profits, with $180,000 in total donated to community projects.
