Sidewalks to close to the public during construction in Georgian Bluffs

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is reminding residents that some local sidewalks will be closed next month during scheduled construction work.

According to a media release from the township, the 2026 Sidewalk Reconstruction Program will begin on August 4. That will cause sections of sidewalks in Kilsyth, along Grey Road 5 and the Sunset Strip along the Highway 6 and 21 corridor, to be temporarily closed to the public.

This is a $100,000 project being funded through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund. The Kilsyth stretch of sidewalk will see 410 metres replaced and upgraded, while the Sunset Strip section will see 50 metres done.

The project will improve pedestrian safety and accessibility while enhancing connectivity and supporting walkable, healthy, and vibrant communities throughout the township.

For all information about the 2026 Sidewalk Reconstruction Project in Georgian Bluffs, including a map of the affected sidewalks, project details, and project updates, visit the Township’s Capital Projects webpage at www.georgianbluffs.ca/capitalprojects.
