Sienko OT hero for Maroons in Game 2 against St. Thomas

The Chatham Maroons got a big win on the road to take a 2-0 series lead against the St. Thomas Stars.

The two teams faced off on Tuesday, with the Maroons winning 5-4 in overtime.

St. Thomas opened the scoring less than four minutes into the game.

Alexander Lisi tied the game later in the period from Xandre Aitken and Aydan Doyle, before Trevor Zanutto gave the Maroons the lead from Ian Lachance and Dylan Richter.

The second period saw St. Thomas score another early goal; however, Lisi's second of the game restored the Maroons' lead.

St. Thomas would get another before the intermission, tying the game heading into the third period.

Each team would score in the final frame, with the Maroons' goal coming off the stick of Carter Kucher. Aitken had the only assist on Kucher's goal.

The hero in overtime for the Maroons turned out to be defenseman Kaden Sienko. He was able to blast it home from the point after a face-off win by Ewan McChesney.

The Maroons will look to take a 3-0 series lead when they host the St. Thomas Stars on Thursday. Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.
