After a successful Poker Run, the Chatham-Kent (CK) All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Club has donated $4,000 to Ashley's Place in Tilbury.
The not-for-profit is a Cafe and Ice Cream shop located on Queen Street North.
According to CK ATV Club President Jacques Caouette, this was the fourth annual ride and donation for the charity.
"Our former president Vince [Masse] started that up. It was something dear to his heart, and they do a lot for the community," said Caouette.
The ride took place on May third, with roughly 235 riders showing up.
"We just went through different community spots like Delhaven, Red Barn, Ashley's Place, Kris Goodreau Sawmill, and just back there for a late meal, and that was the proceeds from it," Caouette explained.
The CK ATV Club has donated a significant amount to local charities and initiatives. Caouette notes that the proceeds from this donation will be used towards Ashley's Place free Christmas dinner, with volunteers from the club helping with serving and deliveries.
The club's next Poker Run will be held on October 3rd, and all proceeds will go towards the CK Hospice. Pre-registration is set to open this weekend.
