Chatham drug bust nets four arrests, including three from GTA

Four people have been arrested and charged with multiple offences after a drug bust in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said officers searched a home on McNaughton Avenue West on Wednesday afternoon as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. Officers seized $24,200 worth of illicit drugs and arrested the suspects.

Police seized the following:

217 grams of cocaine

12.5 grams of fentanyl

A loaded Glock .40 calibre handgun with a prohibited overcapacity magazine

A loaded Glock 9mm handgun with a prohibited overcapacity magazine

A Glock handgun replica CO2 BB gun

A pellet gun

Digital scales

Canadian currency

Police noted a 25-year-old man from Toronto, a 21-year-old man from Scarborough, a 22-year-old man from Scarborough, and a 27-year-old man from Chatham were all charged with several drug and firearms offences.

Chatham-Kent police said they're aware that some individuals involved in drug trafficking travel from outside jurisdictions to operate in Chatham-Kent.

"Our service will continue to dedicate significant investigative and enforcement resources to prevent and deter this activity," said police. "The seizure of illicit drugs and loaded firearms in this investigation underscores the very real dangers associated with these activities."
