Time is running out to place orders for the Community Living Chatham-Kent Box Lunch.
Orders are due Tuesday, May 28, and lunch will be delivered on Thursday, May 7.
"You don’t have to pack anything, you don't have to do any work, just place your order," said Brittany Emery, Volunteer and Event Coordinator for Community Living Chatham-Kent. "It's $15, and that includes a Mexi-chicken wrap or a Mexi-salad, which this year we have a gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan option. It includes chips, applesauce, cookie, and a water."
The food is catered by Suite 46, and the Box Lunch for Kids program is also back this year.
"When you place your order, you have the option of adding a $5 donation to provide meals for students here in Chatham-Kent struggling with food insecurities," said Emery. "Last year, we hit a record high. We provided over 800 lunches to students here in Chatham-Kent."
Emery adds that all the money raised stays in Chatham-Kent.
"All the money raised goes to support Community Living Chatham Kent and enriching the lives of people who have diverse abilities," said Emery.
Delivery is available throughout Chatham-Kent, including to Dresden, Wallaceburg, Merlin, Blenheim, Tilbury, Thamesville, Ridgetown, and Chatham.
