Catholic board launches 50/50 draw to fund school programming

It's a chance to win thousands of dollars while supporting local education initiatives at the same time.

The St. Clair District Catholic Education Foundation has launched its first 50/50 draw of the year, which it said will build on the incredible generosity and support shown throughout last year’s fundraising efforts.

In 2025, the foundation hosted three 50/50 draws, generating more than $111,000 in total proceeds.

Over $55,000 was awarded in prize payouts to three lucky winners, and more than $41,000 went directly toward supporting schools and students.

The money funded projects and enhancements like outdoor equipment, team uniforms, technology upgrades, field trips, outdoor learning spaces, and other school-based initiatives.

The first of three 50/50 draws of the year is the Spring Blessings 50/50 Raffle, with the winning ticket set to be drawn on May 29.

“We are so grateful for the incredible support of our families, staff, volunteers, parish partners, and the broader community,” said Director of Education Lisa Demers in a news release. “Because of this generosity, we are able to help provide meaningful opportunities and enhancements for our students that truly make a difference in their learning and well-being. Every ticket purchased is an investment in our students and a reflection of the strong, caring community that surrounds them.”

Tickets can be purchased online by through the St. Clair Catholic District School Board website.

They're 10 for $10, 30 for $20, 150 for $50 and 500 for $100.
