There will be closures across the municipality this weekend, in recognition of the Easter holiday.
Municipal offices and most services will have a four day weekend, closing down both Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. This includes Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, and Fleet Services. Those experiencing a housing emergency can contact the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 during this time.
Entegrus, Service Ontario, and Chatham-Kent's (CK) provincial courts will also be shut both both days.
CK Public Health will be closed on Friday and Monday, while Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) will have altered services.
During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled appointments are advised to show up. These departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies. Hemodialysis Care and Emergency Departments will also remain open.
Leaf and Yard Depots and Transfer Stations will be closed on Friday, but will be open on Monday. Curbside garbage and recycling pickup will also only be affected on the Friday. Residents who would normally see waste picked up on Friday will have collection happen on Saturday instead. There will be no changes for the week of April 6.
Anyone who uses public transportation will need to find a different ride on Friday and on Sunday, April 5. Ride CK Transit services will operate as normal on Saturday and Monday.
All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) will be closed for Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Theatres will be closed, except for scheduled events. Museums and galleries will be closed on Friday, Sunday, and Monday, but will be open for regular hours on Saturday.
All arenas will be closed on Friday.
Pools will be open for regular hours on Saturday, closed on Sunday, and open again on Monday. On Friday, Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be open only for an adult swim from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a free rec swim from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
