CK police issue warning about recent fraud attempts

Over the past two weeks, Chatham-Kent police have received numerous reports about a suspect approaching homes and claiming to have done work on their roof or chimney. The suspect is also requesting cash payments on the spot.

Police are advising residents to be cautious when dealing with door to door services and to ask for proof of any claims the individuals make.

Police say the suspect is mainly targeting the elderly and the victims say they've had no work done on their homes.

CK police are suggesting that residents ask for proper identification and to trust their instincts is something feels suspicious and to not feel pressured to pay immediately.

Police are asking for anyone with information or anyone who's been affected by this to contact the CK Police Service at 519-436-6600.
