CK police conducting training exercise in downtown Chatham

Don't be alarmed if you see a heavy police presence in downtown Chatham on Wednesday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent (CK) police said they'll be conducting a training exercise focused on crisis negotiation scenarios at the Boardwalk Apartments, 121 King Street, in Chatham, until 4:30 p.m.

"During this time, members of the public may observe individuals on the roof of the building, as well as a significant police presence in the area. We want to assure you that this is a routine training exercise aimed at enhancing our officers' skills in crisis management and negotiation techniques," police said.

CK police thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation during the drill.
