Wallaceburg man charged with assaulting, threatening to kill woman

A 64-year-old man has been charged for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill his partner.

On Tuesday, Chatham-Kent police were called to a home in Wallaceburg for a potential domestic disturbance.

Officers determined that a 65-year-old woman had been assaulted and was the victim of previous assaults.

Police arrested the man and charged him with assault, assault by choking, strangling, or suffocating, and four counts of uttering death threats.

His name was not released to protect the victim's identity.

He remains in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
