Chatham-Kent is once again supporting a wide-range of local events and community-driven projects.
A total of $375,000 has been awarded to 66 community initiatives in 2026 thanks to the Together CK Grant program.
That includes five significant events receiving a total of $102,610, 39 community events receiving a total of $137,607, and 22 community projects receiving a total of $134,783.
The significant events include Chatham-Kent Crowfest, the Dresden Night Market, Retrofest in Downtown Chatham, the Thamesville Threshing Festival, and the Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO).
"The Together CK grant program is about investing in the people and communities that make Chatham-Kent such a vibrant place to live," said Mayor Darrin Canniff. "From major festivals to grassroots community projects, these investments support connection, culture, and economic activity across the entire municipality."
Applications were reviewed by a committee made up of municipal staff and community members, using scoring matrix that aligned with Council priorities, community need, diversity and inclusion, and overall community impact.
Deputy CAO Dave Taylor added that the events and projects selected reflect the diversity of Chatham-Kent.
"Together CK supports initiatives that bring people together, celebrate diversity, and strengthen community well-being," said Taylor. "This year's recipients reflect the incredible passion and creativity of residents across Chatham-Kent, and we are proud to support their work."
Successful applicants will be contacted directly with next steps to access their funding. Unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to connect with the Together CK team for feedback and future opportunities.
