Winterfest to raise money for the local hospitals

Four local breweries will come together on Saturday to throw a winter party at the Chatham Armouries.

Red Barn Brewing, Sons of Kent, Bayside Brewing, and Glasstown Brewing have teamed up with Four Diamond Events to host Winterfest from noon until 11 p.m.

The breweries were inspired to host a winter event similar to Brewfest, which takes place in the summer.

"You're going to walk in, and you're going to feel like you're back in the winter," said Denny Vervaet with Red Barn. "I know everything's melting right now, but we're going to have one more party of winter here before we hopefully get into Spring."

There will be more than just local craft beer for attendees to try.

"We're going to have other local alcohol vendors there, so we have seven others. We got wineries, we've got RTD, there's a margarita bar, there's food from Lentina's, and it's all based on samples. So you can try a little bit of everything, that's the fun part about it," said Vervaet.

In addition to the food and drinks, there will be live music with four acts taking the stage.

"We got Tam Lin Road to open it up, and we have Bren, we have Slim Pickerel, and then ending the night with 40 Hours Over," said Vervaet.

He added that they were going to do two sessions, but have since decided to open it up.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF). Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.universe.com/events/winterfest-ck-2026-tickets-G7XKTS, or at the door if they don't sell out in advance.
