CK police briefs -- Tuesday, December 16, 2025

Angry Customer

A 29-year-old man has been charged after a heated situation at a Chatham business.

At around 7:20 a.m. on Monday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a retail store on Third Street.

Officers were told that a man had entered the store and began yelling at employees about a previous order.

The man allegedly damaged store property before leaving.

Police later found the man, arrested him, and charged him with mischief under $5,000.

The man has been released from police custody with a future court date.

Damage to Home

CK police have charged a 33-year-old woman for allegedly damaging a home in Chatham.

At around 8 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the home for potential intimate partner violence.

When police arrived, they found a woman outside.

The person who made the call to the police claimed that the woman had damaged the inside of the home while he was away.

The woman was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
