Tilbury company says workers should be paid soon after not getting paid for weeks

The human resources manager at a company in Tilbury is hoping that its workers will be paid within a couple of days.

Workers at New Rubber Technologies contacted CK News Today on Wednesday, complaining they haven't been paid in three weeks.

The anonymous workers said the company keeps promising to pay them, but the promise remains unfulfilled, adding that the company keeps giving excuses.

The employees noted they were first told the delayed payments were due to a computer glitch, then it was waiting on customers to pay, and now it's that their bank account is frozen.

Human Resources Manager Vaishnav Nair told CK News Today the owner from California should be in town on Thursday afternoon to sort out an issue with the bank account and address the employees.

Nair said the company has money, but the bank has frozen the account for some unknown reason.

The workers said they are scared not to go to work for fear of losing their jobs, adding some couldn't pay rent last month, missed car loans, and missed paying bills.

Some even had to borrow money for gas just to get to work, according to an anonymous tipster.
